Why join Cotgrave and District u3a?
It’s an opportunity to meet and befriend others . . . would be botanists, wine tasters, lace makers, French speakers or belly dancers.
Many Groups evolve a strong social side with trips and get-togethers outside the regular classes
. . . it’s clearly a good way to meet people who are on the same wavelength.
Each Group has its own volunteer leader or coordinator who has a particular interest or expertise in the given subject.
What you won’t get out of u3a is a certificate or documented proof that you have achieved a particular level of excellence because that is not what u3a is about.
Each u3a is different, offering a variety of skills and experiences, all at a minimal annual cost, in our case just a £15 annual subscription.
How to join Cotgrave and District U3A
Contact any of our Officers or Committee members . . . their contact details are listed on the attached links.
Chances are that they will recommend you initially attend one of our Monthly Open Meetings.
These are held on the second Tuesday of every month and both existing and potential members are cordially invited to attend.
These meetings are held at the Cotgrave Welfare Social Club, start at 9.30 and usually last for 90 minutes or so.
There is normally a short talk from an external speaker on a topic of interest to our members together with the announcement of future activities and events.
If you would like to join us just ask to be introduced to the Membership Secretary, Liz Manning.
Alternatively, you may wish to download and complete our Application Form and return
it with a cheque to Liz at 34 White Furrows, Cotgrave, NG12 3LD. Click here to download the Form.
If you are in any doubt about the fee payable just give Liz a call on 07980580161
and she will enlighten you.
Cotgrave & District u3a abides by the general rules set out by The Third Age Trust
which you will find under the section 'About u3a'.
For the sake of simplicity and clarity we have drawn up our own nine point list of
