The Bird Watching Group normally meets monthly with the actual date dependant on conditions and the leader's availability
The Group got off to a good start with visits to the Cotgrave Country Park, Attenborough Nature Reserve and Whisby Nature Reserve. I believe the variety of birds seen in the Country Park was pleasantly surprising to some, whilst a good selection of waterfowl was seen at Attenborough. We did hope to see Nightingale at Whisby but they proved elusive although several were heard. We were however rewarded by Garden Warbler showing and singing very boldly.
I am currently attempting to get feedback from the Group participants to establish the best day to meet and any specific ‘Birding’ preferences
